LAKE MAGGIORE

An exceptional territory

Lake Maggiore is an alpine lake, located between Piedmont, Lombardy and Switzerland. To the north it is sheltered by the hills and the Alps which guarantee a temperate climate.

Thanks to this peculiarity, in the nineteenth century, many prestigious period villas were built and many botanical gardens were designed.

The most important are those of Isola Madre, Isola Bella and Villa Pallavicino in Stresa, and of Villa Taranto in Verbania. There are numerous floral and plant types that, despite the exotic nature of the parks of the luxurious villas, are perfectly set thanks to the particular temperate climate.

The beauty of these places and villas attracts thousands of tourists every year, many of whom, fascinated by this charm, decide to buy their first home or holiday home. The real estate and architectural heritage is remarkable, today it is possible to buy prestigious buildings, among the beautiful old and historic villas. In the past, the rich Italian families built and lived in prestigious residences, many of them from Milan. On the shores of Lake Maggiore there are ancient castles and monumental villas, which even today with their lush parks give these prestigious properties the elegance of the past.

Stresa is the most known city around the Lake Maggiore, in fact all over the world it is called the "Pearl of Lake Maggiore".

From the promenade along the lake and its hills you can enjoy wonderful views, certainly unique for their beauty. The greatest attraction is given by the Gulf of Stresa, which with the Borromeo Islands (Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori) is the most important tourist attraction with the arrival of thousands of people every year.

But Lake Maggiore is not just Stresa. In fact we find Arona, the first city of the lake coming from the South. It is a very commercial city, with its boutiques and restaurants. Meina, Lesa and Belgirate are highly appreciated for their beauty and tranquility. Even here in the hills we can find beautiful modern villas for sale, while on the lake shore we have the important pieds dans l'eau historic villas.

Some customers have assures to us that Lake Maggiore is the place to live a slow, stress-free life, where the climate is not too frigid in winter, nor too hot in summer.

Lake Maggiore is particularly favored by its geographical position and its fast connections. In less than an hour you can reach Milan, the Malpensa International airport and nearby Switzerland with Lugano and Locarno. Turin is another city just over an hour away by car. Important are its monuments, the Reggia di Venaria and the Egyptian Museum. The convenient rail connections to Switzerland that connect Geneva, Bern and Lausanne are also widely used. For those who love shopping and art, Milan is a must. There you can find the best Italian fashion brands boutiques and the Teatro alla Scala, an example of architectural beauty with his operas and ballets.

For food and wine lovers, Alba, home of the white truffle, can be reached in less than two hours driving, as are the Langhe and Monferrato.

Customers are looking for a quiet and protected region to spend their holidays or to live permanently, in this area these expectations can be met. Furthermore, another important point is safety, a necessary requirement for people who buy prestigious properties, where they can live peacefully with their family.

Lake Maggiore is also preferred by golfers, in fact in less than 30 minutes by car from Stresa there are three different golf courses, the Golf Des Îles Borromées with 18 holes and breathtaking views, so the Alpine Golf Club and the Continental Golf in Verbania both with 9 holes.

Lake Maggiore is a natural paradise for those who practice sport, from water skiing, wakeboarding, sailing and windsurfing. It also offers tennis courts, hiking and mountain biking, for those who prefer to stay on the ground.

These competitions are considered by all to be among the most suggestive panoramic races in the world, thanks to the route, which winds along the Piedmontese coast of Lake Maggiore.
