Villa Maioni in Verbania

By 2022, Verbania will be built on Lake Maggiore in the historic Villa Maioni period residence, inside the public park, a collection of 600 specimens of camellias.

The initiative stems from a proposal made by the Italian Camellia Society and by the Typical Flowers Consortium of Lake Maggiore to the Municipality of Verbania.

This project met with the positive opinion of the Administration and the Mayor and was received with great enthusiasm. In fact, this initiative reaffirms the identity of the city of Verbania and allows the redevelopment of a public park. The project will be completed by 2022, when the International Camellia Congress will be held. The name chosen for the camelieto is "Camellia Library", it will develop around Villa Maioni, on an area of three hectares.

The camellias will take place in areas where a tornado destroyed several large trees. These initiatives confirm the particular attention that is paid to the environment on Lake Maggiore. Lake Maggiore is historically an area that the various city administrations have preserved from the point of view of the nature of the environment. In fact, even in historic houses and period villas, parks and gardens have always been particularly cared for and constantly maintained, to safeguard their historical value.
